The Ghana Police Service has apprehended dance hall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale.
On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 8:59 pm dancehall hitmaker Shatta Wale handed himself to the Police after he was publicly declared wanted and one other person.
According to the Ghana Police Service, Shatta Wale’s arrest is to assist them in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of intended to cause fear and panic.
“As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted,” the police said.

Meanwhile, the award-winning artiste, Shatta Wale was apprehended last night, shortly after Nana Dope, his manager and Gangee were picked up by the Police.
At the time of the arrest of the Shatta Wale, it was not clear he turned himself in or was picked by the Police.

“I came to report myself so shut the f*ck up,” Shatta Wale wrote on Facebook.
Before his arrest, the Police announced that they have busted his Personal Assistant, Nana Dope and Gangee in connection with the fake gunshot attack news.
On Monday, 18 October 2021, Nana Dope took to Snapchat to cause fear and panic in the public after stating that Shatta Wale has been shot by some unknown gunmen at East Legon and he’s receiving treatment at the emergency ward.
Nana Dope, who is the personal assistant to the singer thanked the Ghana Police Service for showing up at the gunshot scene, but the Police repudiated that report.
According to the Police, they did not know anything of that, but after following up, they searched for Shatta Wale in all the hospitals in Accra and he was nowhere to be found.
They added that the musician’s family and close friends did not know his whereabouts as they urged the public to assist them to find the singer.
